Pension spending equals 41.20% of Mexico’s tax revenue
El CEO reports federal pension spending of 1.769 trillion pesos in January to September, equivalent to 41.20% of revenue collected by tax authority SAT. Spending rose 7.17% in real terms from a year earlier.
Context
The total covers contributory and non-contributory pensions. El CEO puts those components at 1.262 trillion pesos and 507,443 million pesos, respectively.
Why it matters
The comparison shows the scale of pension commitments against tax receipts. It does not mean the SAT earmarks that share of each tax payment for pensions.

Mexico’s October new-car sales rise 3.1% year-on-year
El Financiero, citing Mexico’s statistics agency INEGI and the dealers’ association AMDA, reports January to October sales rose 4.8%. Sales reached a record for that period.
Context
October sales exceeded AMDA’s forecast. The monthly total was the strongest October result since 2016.
Why it matters
The stronger overall market masks different results by brand: Nissan and General Motors increased sales, while Volkswagen, Toyota and Honda declined.

Mexican Baseball League picks Fanki for centralized ticket sales
El CEO reports that the LMB selected Fanki as its official ticketing platform. Centralized sales are scheduled to start in April 2027 under a technology partnership lasting at least five years.
Context
League president Horacio de la Vega told El CEO that teams used a three-year transition to end their separate ticketing arrangements.
Why it matters
A common platform would give the league a more unified view of its fans and ticket business. This is a planned change, not evidence of higher revenue or a completed investment deal.
